I was given my Wingate Scholarship to study with the one of the greatest singers of the last century - Ileana Cotrubas. I spent a week with Madam Cotrubas at her villa in the South of France; it was a wonderful experience.
I had met Madam Cotrubas at a Masterclass at the Britten Pears School and she was very encouraging to me. The week at her villa just consolidated everything for me. I have since made a career as a freelance opera and concert singer. I work as part of a Harp and Soprano duo and we have given recitals at the Banqueting House and several World Premieres. I have also given recitals in the Crush Bar at The Royal Opera House, Covent Garden and in Russia as well as singing at The Royal Albert Hall, St John's Smith Square, The Purcell Room and other prestigious venues throughout the UK.
I also run a consultancy organising Music for Events and run my own Concert series at the Dorking Halls in Surrey.
I was very lucky to have a Wingate Scholarship and still consider myself as a Wingate Scholar and am proud to tell people this.
