Ferdinand Dennis authored two novels after receiving a Wingate Scholarship, The Last Blues Dance (HarperCollins, 1996) and Duppy Conqueror (Flamingo, 1998). He also co-authored the anthology, 'Voices of the Crossing (Serpent's Tail, 2000). In 2000 he gave six seminars on the African Diaspora at Birkbeck College, University of London as well as the Keynote Address at the Africa 2000 conference in Liverpool University. He is currently working on his fourth novel and teaching creative writing, part-time, at Middlesex University.
