The Wingate Scholarship allowed me to continue my studies in the opera department of the Royal Academy of Music and was absolutely invaluable in the opportunity it afforded me. I continued from the RAM, for a further year, at the National Opera Studio, graduating in 2000. Since leaving I have been working as a singer both in the UK and abroad, for such companies as Glyndebourne, ENO, Scottish Opera, Bologna Comunale, WNO, Wexford Festival, and the Young Vic. My career encompasses both classic repertoire (particularly bel canto) and an increasing amount of new writing. I have also branched into education and development work, regularly leading music workshops with young people on voice and have had a three year association with a special needs school in Mostar, Bosnia. I studied Sound Healing 5 years ago and now combine these skills with my classical training in all my work and have developed a creative arts project designed for children who have experienced trauma. Life is a good balance between singing and educating and this makes me very happy.
